WASHINGTON, D.C. – Two years after the U.S. Supreme Court invalidated key protections of the Voting Right Act of 1965 in Shelby County v. Holder, U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) joined as an original cosponsor in a bipartisan bicameral effort in introducing the Voting Rights Advancement Act of 2015, H.R. 2867, legislation that would restore these protections.
