WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (D-OH-03) issued the following statement on Trump Administration’s military actions in Venezuela earlier today:

“The American people and Congress deserve transparency, accountability, and clear answers before the United States is drawn into another open-ended conflict.  

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Joyce Beatty today sued President Trump and others to stop the unlawful renaming of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. The lawsuit was brought on behalf of the Congresswoman in her capacity as an ex officio trustee of the Kennedy Center by Democracy Defenders Action and the Washington Litigation Group. Congresswoman Beatty participated in the recent Board meeting and alleges she was prevented from speaking when she attempted to object to the renaming.

WASHINGTON D.C. – Yesterday, the House Financial Services Committee marked up various affordable housing bills, including three provisions led by Congresswoman Joyce Beatty. These measures passed through committee as part of H.R. 6644, the Housing for the 21st Century Act, which will streamline housing development and increase flexibility for local communities. The package now awaits consideration by the full House of Representatives.  

COLUMBUS, OH – Tonight, Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) hosted The Power of One: Ohio’s 20th Annual Statewide Tribute to Rosa Parks at Vitria on the Square, marking the 20th anniversary of Ohio becoming the first state in the nation to designate December 1st as Rosa Parks Day.

Last week, Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03)  joined Reps. Mike Lawler (NY-17) and Young Kim (CA-40) in introducing the Community Investment and Prosperity Act, a bipartisan bill to expand banks’ ability to make community investments that promote public welfare and local economic development.
