Appropriations Requests

Each year, Congress is responsible for funding federal agencies and the programs, grants, and other services they administer through the appropriations process.

The annual appropriations process grants Representative Beatty the opportunity to advocate for programs and services that are beneficial to Ohio's Third Congressional District and the constituents she represents.

Three types of appropriations requests may be submitted:

  1. Programmatic Request: A request for general support or a specific funding level in the bill for a specific program.
  2. Language Requests: A request to include specific bill or report language that does not direct funding to a particular entity, but encourages, urges, or directs some type of action by an agency.
  3. Community Project Funding (CPF) Requests: A request to direct funds to a specific state or local governmental entity or eligible non-profit recipient to carry out a specific community project.
