WASHINGTON, D.C. – This morning, in the midst of a marathon—20-plus-hour—fight over the Republican “One Big Ugly” budget bill, Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) received a commendation on the House Floor from House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries and a standing ovation from her House Democratic colleagues for her courage, persistence, and resilient spirit in returning to the Floor against medical advice to oppose the bill.

Washington, D.C. — Today, Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (D-OH-03), Congressman Sean Casten (D-IL-06), and Congresswoman Jen Kiggans (R-VA-02) introduced the bipartisan Financial Empowerment and Protection Act, legislation to remove barriers to the financial information and access often necessary for people to leave abusive relationships safely.
