Washington, DC — Today, on the birthday of civil rights icon Rosa Parks, Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) introduced the Rosa Parks Commemorative Coin Act to honor her life and legacy with commemorative coins bearing her image. This legislation comes as the nation approaches the 70th anniversary of Parks’ courageous act on December 1, 1955, when she refused to give up her seat on a segregated bus in Montgomery, Alabama.

WASHINGTON, D.C. –  Today, to kick off Black History Month, Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) reintroduced the Black History is American History Act, legislation that would mandate the inclusion of Black history as a required component of the American History and Civics Academies' competitive grants administered by the U.S. Department of Education. This bill also strengthens history education and expands access to Black history resources.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Yesterday, Democratic Women’s Caucus (DWC) Chair Congresswoman Teresa Leger Fernández (NM-03) announced that Congresswoman Joyce Beatty will continue to serve on the DWC Executive Steering Committee in the newly established role of National Leaders & Advocacy Organizations Liaison. In this role, Congresswoman Beatty will work closely with the Executive Branch and over 60 gender equity advocacy organizations partnered with the DWC.

Washington, DC — Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) today announced $12 million in funding from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s (USDOT) Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) program. This transformative grant will support the Linden Green Line Project, which will redevelop a seven-mile abandoned rail corridor into a thriving regional linear park and active transportation corridor.
