Washington, DC — Tonight, Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) hosted a Tele-Town Hall to address the Musk-MAGA hostile takeover of the U.S. government and the dangerous, and in some cases, unlawful executive orders issued by President Trump. Despite a D.C. snowstorm, Reps. Glenn Ivey (MD-04) and Morgan McGarvey (KY-03) joined the conversation in person, reaffirming their commitment to defending democracy and answering questions from Ohio’s Third Congressional District.

Maxine Waters (CA-43), Ranking Member of the House Financial Services Committee, and House Democrats to protest efforts by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to shut down the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB)—a critical watchdog against corporate greed and predatory financial practices.

Figures (AL-02) introduced The Rosa Parks Day Act. The bill would designate December 1st as a federal holiday commemorating the historic arrest of Rosa Parks in Montgomery, Alabama. Rep. Washington, DC — Today, on the birthday of civil rights icon Rosa Parks, Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) introduced the Rosa Parks Commemorative Coin Act to honor her life and legacy with commemorative coins bearing her image. This legislation comes as the nation approaches the 70th anniversary of Parks’ courageous act on December 1, 1955, when she refused to give up her seat on a segregated bus in Montgomery, Alabama.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, to kick off Black History Month, Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) reintroduced the Black History is American History Act, legislation that would mandate the inclusion of Black history as a required component of the American History and Civics Academies' competitive grants administered by the U.S. Department of Education. WASHINGTON, D.C. – Earlier this month, President Joe Biden signed into law the Social Security Fairness Act, which will substantially increase Social Security benefits for millions of former teachers, law enforcement officers, postal workers, and other public employees.
