Congresswoman Beatty Statement on Mass Shooting in Las Vegas
On October 1, 2017, more than 50 people were killed and hundreds more injured, when a gunman opened fire on a crowd of more than 30,000 people at a music festival in Las Vegas, Nevada. In response, U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) issued the following statement:
"I am absolutely horrified by the mass shooting that happened at a music festival in Las Vegas. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims, the hundreds wounded, their families, friends and all those impacted by this terrible tragedy. At this extremely trying time, however, I want to salute the first responders for their bravery and selflessness--because of them, countless lives were saved. It is long past time we work together as a country to put a stop to this senseless violence."
