Press Release

WASHINGTON, D.C.—US. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03), Chair of the powerful Congressional Black Caucus (CBC), held a hearing today, “Living Black History and Building On Our Past: the CBC 100 Day Plan,” to unveil the CBC’s policy priorities and plan of action for the Biden-Harris Administration’s first 100 days in office. Also, during the special event—broadcast live on various social media platforms—Beatty premiered a video recognizing and reflecting on CBC members’ work to secure equality, equity, and equal justice for all Americans.

“We are in a historic time, and the Congressional Black Caucus—through Our Power, Our Message—is uniquely poised to advance an agenda for Black people and the communities we serve,” Beatty said, “In that spirit, I am pleased to announce the establishment of the Domestic Policy Leadership Team and Policy Councils, a collaborative initiative that allows us to leverage the wealth of knowledge housed here within the CBC.” She added, “I know the entire team is excited and ready to hit the ground running, so expect to see and hear a lot in the weeks and months ahead, such as townhalls, white papers, briefings, and most importantly the CBC Budget.”

For the 117th Congress, the CBC Domestic Policy Leadership Team will be co-chaired by Senator Cory Booker (NJ) and U.S. Congresswoman Barbara Lee (CA-13).
