Beatty Statement on 2019 State of the Union Address
On February 5, 2019, President Donald J. Trump delivered the 2019 State of the Union Address before a joint session of the 116th Congress. After the president's speech, U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) issued the following statement:
"President Trump spoke tonight about how we must ‘reject the politics of revenge, resistance, and retaliation.' He needs to heed his own words and live up to the promise to ‘bridge old divisions, heal old wounds, build new coalitions, forge new solutions, and unlock the extraordinary promise of America's future.' I hope his message translates to him signing the Paycheck Fairness Act and finally getting serious about working with Democrats on the issues affecting all Americans."
