$5+Million in Beatty-Backed Community Funding Requests Get Greenlight

July 20, 2021

WASHINGTON, D.C.—The House Committee on Appropriations released the list of approved Member Community Funding Projects last week. Included in the list were all of U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty's (OH-03) requests for Ohio Third Congressional District-based projects.

"I am committed to delivering real results for hardworking Central Ohioans, families, and small businesses—and that begins with high-quality, affordable healthcare, a superior education no matter where you live, and increased access to the support services and assistance to thrive," Beatty said. "It is certainly refreshing to know that, under the leadership of Congressional Democrats and the Biden-Harris Administration, we are making the much-needed investments in important projects like these to guarantee that every American can build back better."

Of note, the House Committee of Appropriations has approved the spending bills, but they must be voted on by the full U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate. Additionally, Beatty recently secured $25 million for Phase 4 of the $1.3 billion Columbus Crossroads project, after spearheading a letter urging the White House to greenlight the plan for an Infrastructure for Rebuilding America (INFRA) grant. Moreover, earlier this month, the House passed the Investing in a New Vision for the Environment and Surface Transportation in America (INVEST in America) Act, H.R. 3684. The comprehensive transportation and infrastructure package contains over $19 million for Central Ohio requests supported by Beatty
