Congresswoman Beatty Observes Domestic Violence Awareness Month
October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, a month-long initiative dedicated to raising awareness about the prevalence of domestic abuse. In response, U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) issued the following statement:
"One out of every three women have experienced some form of physical violence at the hands of an intimate partner. The same holds true for one in four men. That is why it is of the utmost importance that we stop the silence surrounding domestic violence and begin holding abusers accountable. This October, and all year round, join me in supporting victims and in calling for an end to domestic violence everywhere."
If you or someone you know are the victim of domestic violence, please contact Ohio Domestic Violence Awareness Network (ODVAN) at 800-934-9840 or the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 800-799-SAFE.
