Congresswoman Beatty Honors EITC Awareness Day

January 26, 2018 is Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) Awareness Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness to ensure every qualified worker and family claims and receives the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). In recognition, U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) released the following announcement:

"According to the IRS, more than 25.8 million eligible workers and families received about $63.8 billion in EITC nationwide in 2017. Yet, still today, one in five people who could claim the EITC do not because they are unaware they qualify. That is why it is so important to make sure this tax season you are aware of all your tax filing options. I encourage Central Ohioans and all Americans to learn more about EITC and claim it if they qualify—because it can make a huge financial impact in their family's life.
