Statement on FBI Charges Against Ohio House Speaker and Associates

U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) issued the following statement on the arrest and indictment of Ohio House Speaker Larry Householder and four close associates related to a $60 million federal bribery case:

"Government corruption is abhorrent, it flies in the face of our solemn promise as public officials to uphold and defend the Constitution and violates our oath of office. That is why, if the Speaker of the Ohio House of Representatives and other perpetrators are found guilty of bribery and racketeering, they must be held fully accountable, permanently banned from holding public office or positions of power, as well as forced to pay restitution for padding their pockets at the expense of Ohio taxpayers and ratepayers and for betraying their trust."
