Rep. Beatty Announces Regina Wallace-Jones as State of the Union Guest
WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) today announced Regina Wallace-Jones, President and CEO of ActBlue, as her guest of the State of the Union Address.
A former tech executive and elected official, Wallace-Jones has dedicated her life’s work to uplifting historically underrepresented voices in the workforce, serving as the founding board president of StreetCode Academy, and has served as a patron of Black Girls Code, a board member for Women Who Code, and a partner of the Lean In Foundation that advocates for women pursuing professional ambition. She also worked as an organizer for the Obama for America presidential campaign and served as city council member and then as mayor of the city of East Palo Alto. In January, Wallace-Jones was appointed as the first Black woman to serve as the CEO of ActBlue, the premier fundraising platform for Democratic candidates.

Regina Wallace-Jones is the President and CEO of ActBlue, the premier small-dollar fundraising platform for Democratic candidates and progressive organizations. An engineer by training, Wallace-Jones brings decades of experience in high-tech and finance, focusing on products and security, and building tools and platforms to scale for businesses large and small. Prior to the ActBlue appointment, Wallace-Jones was the COO at LendStreet, a company that helped people get out of debt, rebuild their credit, and get a fresh start, and she also served as an executive at Mindbody, Inc., Yahoo, eBay, and Facebook. In addition to her tech career, she has led a career in public service, as a city council member and then mayor of East Palo Alto where she currently lives with her husband and two daughters. Wallace-Jones is a member of the Delta Sigma Theta, a public service sorority, and she holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and a Master’s in Public Policy – with emphasis on Technology Policy - from UCLA.
