ICYMI: Beatty Blasted Trump’s ‘Republican Rip Off’ in a Series of National Responses

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Throughout the day and into the evening yesterday, Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) delivered a forceful rebuke of President Donald Trump’s Joint Address to Congress, exposing his administration’s corruption, lies, and attacks on everyday Americans. Participating in a series of counterprogramming events, she engaged national leaders, activists, and constituents in standing against the "Republican Rip Off."

“In just a few weeks, Co-Presidents Trump and Musk, along with their Republican enablers, have launched an all-out assault on working-class Americans—gutting essential services, stripping away protections for veterans, seniors, and students, and delivering billionaire-friendly tax cuts while raising costs on families,” said Congresswoman Beatty. “The American people won’t stand for it, and Democrats will stand against it.”

Ahead of Trump’s speech, Congresswoman Beatty led a discussion with Congressman James Clyburn and Democratic National Committee Chair Ken Martin on the devastating impact of Trump’s policies—including rising costs, economic instability, and threats to Social Security, Medicaid, and public education. They urged all Americans to protect the nation's economic prosperity and democracy by speaking and standing against the assaults.

Later, Congresswoman Beatty delivered a direct address to her constituents and all Americans titled “The Republican Rip Off and the Democratic Response”. She laid bare the administration’s corruption, anti-working-class agenda, and disregard for diversity, equity, and inclusion. She called out Trump’s tariffs for driving up future consumer costs and singled out Elon Musk for profiting off government access and influence. Concluding with a rallying cry for resistance, she directed Ohioans to her website for the contact information of the Ohio congressional delegation, so all Ohioans could connect with their elected officials.
