Congresswoman Beatty Votes "Yes" on Bipartisan Government Funding Bill
Piece of legislation will fund the government through September 30, 2018
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 1625, a bill to fund federal government agencies and operations for the remainder of Fiscal Year (FY) 2018, by a vote of 256-167. After the vote, U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) released the following statement:
"I voted in favor of the $1.3 trillion bipartisan government funding bill because it provides billions in additional funds for important programs and needs critical to people in my district and our nation that I have been fighting for in Congress. Most notably, the bill improves veterans' care and support services, increases investment in infrastructure repairs, early childhood education and higher education—including Historically Black Colleges and Universities—affordable housing and economic revitalization, and boosts funds to fight the opioid crisis. I am hopeful the Senate passes the bill and that President Trump signs it into law quickly, so that Congressional Republicans can finally shift their focus to working with Democrats on a whole host of other important issues facing our country and the globe."
