Congresswoman Beatty Spotlights $17+ Million for Central Ohio

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, U.S. Congresswoman and Congressional Black Caucus Chair Joyce Beatty (OH-03) announced over $17 million in recent federal grant funding and contracts for local economic development projects, education programs, and infrastructure initiatives. 

“Federal funding has the power to transform communities. It gives me great pride to know that over $17 million is going to help connect our region, empower young students, and propel groundbreaking technology right here in Central Ohio,” said Beatty. “As the Representative of Ohio's Third Congressional District, I strongly support the investment in groundbreaking scientific research, STEM programs, and infrastructure that will help the local economy to build back better today and lay the groundwork for an even brighter tomorrow."

Specifically, the funds include:

  • $8,000,000 contract for the Battelle Memorial Institute to conduct chemical sampling and testing of dredged material in support of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers-New York District.
  • $4,843,044 to John Glenn Columbus International Airport for improvements to the existing taxiway.
  • $4,814,801 to The Ohio State University to support Early Head Start and child care partnerships.
