Congresswoman Beatty Launches Beatty Book Time Video Series

COLUMBUS, OH—U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) today debuted the first video in a three-part series, entitled ‘Beatty Book Time,' focused on helping fill the gap in educational resources and development for children and young students living in family centers, transitional housing, or experiencing homelessness. In the premiere video, Beatty introduces viewers to her new friend, "HappyBear," reads the book Mr. Happy and Miss. Grim, and discusses the importance of taking practical steps to stay healthy during these unprecedented times.

"With Ohio schools likely closed for the remainder of the year, it is critical that all students have access to a variety of resources to make progress in the classroom," Beatty said. "Yet, too many young people and their parents across the country do not have adequate content and access. So, after talking with community leaders working with children facing housing instability, I decided to create the Beatty Book Time series to help address and fill the gap."
