Congresswoman Beatty Announces the Winners of the 2017 Congressional Art Competition
Competition showcases the artistic talents of high school students across the country
COLUMBUS, OH. – On May 25, 2017, at a special event co-hosted by U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03), Congressman Steve Stivers (OH-15) and Congressman Pat Tiberi (OH-12), the grand prize winners from Ohio's Third, Twelfth and Fifteenth Congressional Districts were announced before a packed crowd at the Columbus Museum of Art.
"It is an honor to have this year's winning piece from Ohio's Third Congressional District hang alongside the many amazing works of art from around the country in the U.S. Capitol," Beatty said. "Congratulations to all of this year's winners, and thank you to everyone who made the 2017 Congressional Art competition an unbelievable success."
The 2017 Congressional Art Competition winners from Ohio's Third Congressional District are:
- 1st Place: Jordan Havice – Franklin Heights High School, "Freedom of Religion"
- 2nd Place: Diana Boushouets– Central Crossing High School, "New Generation"
- 3rd Place: Jakya Mosley – Fort Hayes Career Center, "Self Portrait"
