Congresswoman Beatty Announces 2018 Congressional Art Competition Winners

Congressional Art Competition showcases the artistic talents of high school students across the country

COLUMBUS, OH On May 2, 2018, at a community event co-hosted by U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) and U.S. Congressman Steve Stivers (OH-15), the winners from Ohio's Third, Twelfth and Fifteenth Congressional Districts were announced before a packed crowd at the Columbus Museum of Art.

"I am proud to have this year's winning piece from Ohio's Third Congressional District hang alongside works of art from every state in the United States Capitol," Beatty said. "Congratulations to all of this year's winners, as well as the many talented high school artists who submitted pieces of art. I also want to extend a very special thank you to the teachers, parents, judges and other community entities that made the 2018 Congressional Art competition an unbelievable success."

The 2018 Congressional Art Competition winners from Ohio's Third Congressional District are:

  • 1st Place: Rebecca Maston – Northland High School, "Profile"
  • 2nd Place: Danasha Edgington – Fort Hayes High School, "Youth"
  • 3rd Place: Yahfa Guerra – Fort Hayes High School, "3 Women Portrait Against Blue"
  • Viewers' Choice (based on Facebook likes): Diana Bovshovets – Central Crossing High School, "King of Beasts"
