U.S. Reps. Maxine Waters (D-CA), chairwoman of the House Financial Services Committee, and Joyce Beatty (D-OH), chair of the Subcommittee on Diversity and Inclusion, released a report on diversity and inclusion at America's largest investment firms.

The report – called Diversity and Inclusion: Holding America's Largest Investment Firms Accountable – was generated by committee staffers, who gathered data from investment firms with assets over $400 billion on their diversity and inclusion data and practices.

The region's largest event designed to boost diversity and inclusion in the workplace is set to return next week.

The Fifth Third Bank Diversity Leadership Symposium will be held at the Duke Energy Convention Center 8 a.m.-noon Dec. 15. The event will feature a keynote from Congresswoman Joyce Beatty, who chairs the Congressional Black Caucus.

The Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) has said Representative Lauren Boebert's recent comments about Representative Ilhan Omar could lead to death threats against the Democrat.

Boebert, a Republican who represents Colorado's 3rd congressional district, apologized to the Muslim community following remarks about Omar where she joked about a bomb in a backpack.

A Georgia jury on Wednesday found three white men charged in the death of Ahmaud Arbery guilty of multiple counts of murder.

The jury found Travis McMichael, 35, who fatally shot Arbery on Feb. 23, 2020, in a Brunswick, Ga., neighborhood, guilty of all nine counts brought against him, including malice murder.

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - The mayor-elect of Cleveland is calling on the Department of Justice to reopen their investigation into the shooting death of Tamir Rice on the seventh anniversary of the 12-year-olds killing.

"Seven years ago, Tamir Rice was killed while playing with a toy gun," Bibb wrote. "I join Cleveland City Council, U.S. Senator @SherrodBrown and others in calling on the Department of Justice to reopen the investigation. Today, we remember Tamir as the quest for justice continues."
