National Volunteer Week: Making a Difference
Each year, our nation recognizes the importance and impact of volunteers during National Volunteer Week. This year, National Volunteer Week runs from April 15th to April 21st. To mark the weeklong initiative, U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) issued the following statement:
“The passion and hard work of volunteers have helped respond, address, and solve some of our nation’s biggest challenges. In that spirt, with our nation still recovering from the COVID-19 Pandemic, I want to commend all those who are dedicating their time, talents, and treasures to making a difference in the lives of others—and I hope more people will do the same. This week and every week, I encourage Americans to volunteer because, through service, we are made stronger.”
First celebrate in 1974, National Volunteer Week is spearheaded by Points of Light. During the week, thousands of volunteer projects and special events are being held across the country.
