April 9, 2019
Announcements

Each year, our nation celebrates the importance and impact of volunteers during National Volunteer Week. This year, National Volunteer Week runs from April 7 to April 13. To mark the weeklong initiative, U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) issued the following statement:

"Throughout history, the passion and hard work of volunteers have helped solve some of our nation's biggest challenges. I commend everyone who gives their time, talents, and voices to the causes they believe in, and hope more people will do the same. This week and every week, I encourage Americans to join together as volunteers, because through service, we are made stronger."

First celebrated in 1974, National Volunteer Week is spearheaded by Points of Light. During the week, thousands of volunteer projects and special events are being held across the country. To learn more, please visit the Points of Light website, and be sure to join the conversation online by using #IVolunteer, #NVW and #ServiceUnites.
