Congresswoman Beatty Pays Tribute to Older Americans Month
May is Older Americans Month, a month-long initiative honoring our nation’s seniors and providing an opportunity to engage in thoughtful discussion on the critical issues impacting American seniors and their families. In recognition, U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) issued the following statement:
“Older Americans Month takes on new meaning this year as we face an unprecedented public health crisis that threatens the lives and livelihood of everyone. That is why it is imperative that Congress not only provide the necessary resources and supports to keep all of our constituents safe and healthy in the short term—especially senior citizens—but equally as important that we ensure the viability of Social Security and Medicare in the long term. In that spirit, as the Representative of Ohio’s Third Congressional District in Congress, I promise to keep seniors at the forefront in my work in Congress and at home.”
