Congresswoman Beatty Mourns on Holocaust Memorial Day
May 2, 2019
Sundown May 1st to sundown May 2nd (the 27th day of Nisan on the Hebrew Calendar) marks Yom HaShoah, or Holocaust Remembrance Day. Yom HaShoah serves as a commemoration of the six million Jews murdered during the Holocaust, as well as the efforts of the Jewish resistance within Nazi Germany. In remembrance, U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) released the following statement:
"It has been 74 years since the liberation of Auschwitz and Dachau, but we cannot forget the crimes against humanity committed within their walls and Europe at large. Today, my prayers are with the families who were torn apart during the darkest chapter of human history. May we never forget."
