Congresswoman Beatty Marks National Volunteer Week

Each year, our nation celebrates the importance and impact of volunteers during National Volunteer Week. This year, National Volunteer Week runs from April 23 to April 29. To mark the weeklong initiative, U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) issued the following statement:

"Every day, volunteers are dedicating much of their time, talent and voices to make positive change happen for our country. During National Volunteer Week, I salute all those who are committed to being changemakers and encourage more Americans to volunteer—through service we can build stronger, more vibrant communities."

First celebrated in 1974, National Volunteer Week is spearheaded by Points of Light. During the week, thousands of volunteer projects and special events are being held across the country. To learn more, please visit the Points of Light website, and be sure to join the conversation online by using #IVolunteer, #NVW and #ServiceUnites.
