Congresswoman Beatty Joins in Celebration of National Adoption Month
National Adoption Month is a month-long initiative to increase awareness on the important role that adoption plays in the lives of countless children and families. To mark National Adoption Month, U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) said:
"Right now, more than 100,000 children in the United States are waiting to find their ‘forever home' and another 23,000 this year alone will exit foster care with no family or permanent residence—this is totally unacceptable. That is why I believe Members of Congress should work together to streamline and expedite the process; to paraphrase this year's National Adoption Month theme, ‘every teen needs a family, no matter what.'"
