Congresswoman Beatty Celebrates Teacher Appreciation Week
May 4 through May 8, our nation marks Teacher Appreciation week, an annual celebration of the hard work and dedication of our nation's teachers. In the midst of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic, countless teachers are going the extra mile by taking their classes remotely—some even using their own personal resources to provide tele-learning materials to students who lack access. In recognition of Teacher Appreciation Week, U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) issued the following statement:
"In schools across this nation, teachers are molding and shaping the minds of the next generation. Over three million public school teachers across the country wake up each and every day committed to maximize the potential of our youth and to help them realize their dreams, and to lay a foundation for success in and outside the classroom. During these trying times, teachers have spent time from home—many working long hours—to ensure that their students have the tools and skills to achieve success in and outside the classroom."
First celebrated in1984, Teacher Appreciation Week is organized by the National PTA. To learn more about Teacher Appreciation week and the work of the National PTA, please visit www.pta.org/ThankATeacher. Also, do not forget to join the conversation online by using: #ThankATeacher.
