Congresswoman Beatty Celebrates National School Lunch Week
October 12th through October 16th is National School Lunch Week, an awareness campaign emphasizing the importance of a healthy school lunch in a child’s life and the impact it has inside and outside of the classroom. To mark the occasion, U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) said:
“30 million children rely on the National School Lunch Program every day for a nutritious meal, and the COVID-19 Pandemic has without a doubt shown how vitally important school meals are for students, their parents and families. In short, a nutritious lunch provides students the ‘brain food’ to help make sure they are prepared to succeed at school, at home, and in the community.
As Representative of Ohio’s Third Congressional District, I have consistently called for greater funding for the National School Lunch Program and will continue to champion programs that help our nation’s brightest and youngest minds succeed academically, professionally, and personally.”
