Beatty Emphasizes Importance of Earned Income Tax Credit Awareness Day
January 25th is Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) Awareness Day, an awareness campaign that seeks to increase the number of eligible Americans who claim the EITC. To honor the event, U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) issued the following statement:
"According to the IRS, one in five workers who are eligible to claim the EITC do not because they do not know they qualify. That means hard-earned money left on the table for millions of eligible working families. In that spirit, I encourage Central Ohioans to do their research this tax season and claim the EITC, if they qualify."
