Beatty Celebrates National Adoption Month
November marks National Adoption Month, an annual campaign to advocate for the needs of adopted children and their families, and to encourage more Americans to adopt. Continuing in her advocacy for families, U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) issued the following statement:
"Adopting a child is one of the most generous acts of love a parent can make, and far more common than you might think. Nearly 100 million Americans have adoption in their immediate family, and 60 percent of Americans have personal experience with adoption. But sadly, many children currently in the foster care system will age out before being adopted. It is imperative that we work to reverse this trend and help more children find their forever families."
