Beatty Backs Black Business Month

August is National Black Business Month, an opportunity to celebrate and promote black-owned businesses. In celebration of the black business community and African-American entrepreneurs, U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) released the following statement:

"Black-owned businesses are the cornerstone of so many communities, but, sadly, black entrepreneurs face many hurdles to starting a business. Whether it is securing a loan or finding a location, the already difficult challenges business owners face are only tougher when fighting centuries of institutional racism. That is why it is so important for all people to actively support black-owned businesses. I encourage my constituents and all Americans to vote with their dollars and join me in ‘shopping black' this month."
