Kenny McDonald appointed to U.S. Investment Advisory Council
WASHINGTON, DC – This week, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker announced Kenny McDonald, the President and Chief Economic Officer of Columbus 2020, as one of the 19 private and public sector leaders appointed to the newly established U.S. Investment Advisory Council (IAC). IAC members will serve as advisors on how best to support U.S. economic growth through foreign direct investment.
On May 11, 2016, U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03), Congressman Pat Tiberi (OH-12) and Congressman Steve Stivers (OH-15) sent a letter to Secretary Pritzker in support of McDonald’s application.
“Since his arrival as President and CEO of Columbus 2020, Kenny has served as a primary leader for economic development and business attraction efforts for the 11-county Columbus Region,” the letter stated. “As a professional with over two decades of experience in economic development, and more importantly a history of bringing all the partners in economic development together, Kenny is ideally suited for this position.”
Today, in a joint statement, Beatty, Tiberi and Stivers said, “Kenny McDonald has been an incredible leader for the Columbus region, and we are excited Secretary Pritzker selected him for the IAC. We are confident in his ability to serve the Council and represent our city well.”
More information about the IAC can be found in the press release from the U.S. Department of Commerce.
