Rep. Beatty Holds Drawing for Constituents to Attend Address of His Holiness Pope Francis of the Holy See in Washington, D.C.
U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) is pleased to announce the opportunity for constituents of the Third Congressional District of Ohio to participate in a drawing for tickets to attend a live broadcast viewing of Pope Francis speaking before a Joint Session of Congress on September 24, 2015. The speech will be broadcast live on jumbotrons on the West Lawn of the United States Capitol in Washington, D.C. Entry into the event on the West Lawn is limited, and individuals interested in attending this broadcast should complete the form available below.
Due to the high level of interest, a ticket drawing will be held and winners will be selected randomly and notified on Monday, September 14, 2015 starting at 12:00 PM (noon). Winners of the drawing will be eligible for up to 4 tickets. All tickets must be picked-up between 12:00 PM (noon) and 5:00 PM on Wednesday, September 23rd at Congresswoman Beatty's Washington, D.C. office located in room 133 of the Cannon House Office Building.
Due to security procedures, there will be no public access to the U.S. Capitol or House Office Buildings after 5:00 AM on September 24th --tickets must be pick-up on September 23rd.
Pope Francis, leader of the Catholic Church, will visit the United States Capitol on September 24th, 2015 to address a Joint Session of the 114th United States Congress. The joint meeting will begin promptly at 10:00 AM and the Pope will depart the Capitol at 11:00 AM. This historic address is unprecedented, as no Pope has ever addressed Congress, according to the U.S. House Historian's Office.
