Congresswoman Joyce Beatty to host Dialogue on Civil Rights in honor of Rosa Parks

(Columbus, OH) – Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) will host dialogue on Civil Rights in Honor of Rosa Parks as part of statewide tribute to Rosa Parks.

Congresswoman Joyce Beatty will bring greetings and host a dialogue on civil rights in honor of Rosa Parks. The event will be part of Ohio's statewide tribute for Rosa Parks Day. Earlier today, Congresswoman Beatty appeared on Sirius XM Radio "The Urban View" hosted by Joe Madison to discuss the history behind and legacy of Ohio's Rosa Parks Day tribute.

In 2005, during the 126th Ohio General Assembly, then State Representative Beatty introduced House Resolution 120 to designate December 1, as Rosa Parks Day in Ohio. On November 16, 2005, the Ohio House of Representatives passed H.R. 120 that went on to be approved by the Ohio Senate and signed into law by Ohio Governor Bob Taft.
