Congresswoman Beatty Video Statement on Women's History Month
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) released the following video statement on Women's History Month. The video is also available at this LINK.

Text of the statement follow:
This is Congresswoman Joyce Beatty from the great state of Ohio, where I proudly represent the Third Congressional District. Throughout our history the contributions, sacrifices, and leadership of women have strengthened our nation, inspired us to shatter ceilings, and forge new paths.
During this Women's History Month, we remember the bold women who achieved victories in the face of great odds and those who continue to fight for equality in our society. We can do better than 104 women in Congress out of 525 seats. We can do better than 20 African American women in Congress. And, we can do better than 24 female fortune 500 CEOs.
Being the first African American female leader in the Ohio State House, I broke ceilings and always worked hard to give a helping hand to other women. I hope that my experiences and those of Ohio women in the arts, education, the sciences, and at home -- serve asexamples and inspire a younger generation of women leaders.
We know that When Women Succeed, America Succeeds, and that means providing the tools needed to allow all our hard-working women, mothers, and families access to the middle class. This means more jobs with bigger paychecks, equal pay for equal work, affordable child care, and leveling the playing field.
I applaud the contributions of exceptional women and look forward to a day when all of America's daughters may realize their dreams.
