Congresswoman Beatty Statement on Patriot Day and National Day of Service and Remembrance

Honoring victims and survivors of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks

WASHINGTON, D.C. U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) released the following statement on the fourteenth anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks:

"Join me and the nation as we remember and honor in our thoughts and prayers—the slain victims, selfless heroes, first responders, and resilient survivors of the fallen victims of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. None of us will forget the shock and tragedy fourteen years ago today when our nation was violently attacked by an act of terrorism that took thousands of innocent lives.

"As I reflect on my visit to the empty site of the Twin Towers and then later the newly constructed Freedom Tower and National September 11 Memorial, I pledge to recommit myself to continue working to ensure that our servicemembers and veterans, their families, and their survivors get the care they deserve.

"The stories of September 11th will ring forever in history and in the lives and memories of our children and grandchildren. May God bless our nation. May God bless those who we lost, and we commit to honoring their memory and their cause."
