Congresswoman Beatty Named Ranking Member of House Financial Services Subcommittee on National Security, Illicit Finance, and International Financial Institutions

 WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Congresswoman Maxine Waters (CA-43), Ranking Member of the House Financial Services Committee, announced Subcommittee assignments today for the 118th Congress. U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) was appointed to serve as Ranking Member of the National Security, Illicit Finance, and International Financial Institutions Subcommittee.
Reacting to the announcement, Beatty issued the following statement:


“I look forward to being the Ranking Member to lead the Subcommittee on National Security, Illicit Finance, and International Financial Institutions. In this new role, I will work with my fellow members to safeguard the American financial system against terrorist financing, money laundering, and other efforts that threaten our national security. 


“As Ranking Member, I am committed to bringing the same energy demonstrated as Chair of the Diversity and Inclusion Subcommittee that achieved tremendous progress toward a stronger economy that embraced the transformational powers of diversity and inclusion.”


In the 118th Congress, the exclusive Financial Services Committee will be made up of 52 Members of Congress, of which 23 are Democrats and 29 are Republicans. The Committee's work will be handled by 6 subcommittees.
