Congresswoman Beatty Announces 2020 Congressional Art Competition Winners

COLUMBUS, OH—Earlier this month, at a virtual community event co-hosted by U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) and The Links, Inc., Columbus Chapter, the winner from Ohio's Third Congressional District for the 2020 Congressional Art Competition was announced before friends and family via Zoom.

"It is critically important we unite around the things that bring us closer together, including the arts," Beatty said. "In that spirit, I am excited to announce the grand prize winner for the 2020 Congressional Art Competition from Ohio's Third Congressional District, and I look forward to seeing our winning piece hang among all the of art from every state in the United States Capitol." She added, "I want to personally congratulate this year's winners and the many talented Central Ohio high school students who participated. We also cannot forget the work of dedicated teachers, parents, and judges who made the 2020 Congressional Art Competition an unbelievable success during these trying times."

The 2020 Congressional Art Competition winners from Ohio's Third Congressional District are:

  • 1st Place: Jade Jensen, Franklin Heights High School, "Self-Portrait"
  • 2nd Place: Dylann Jones, Centennial High School, "Metamorphosis"
  • 3rd Place: Lou Fei Cariello, Bexley High School, "Late Nights"
  • Viewers' Choice Award (based on Facebook likes): Greyson Wells, Fort Hayes High School, "Rainy Days"
  • The Links, Inc., Columbus Chapter Winner: Mitchell McGrath, Columbus Alternative High School, "Lady-19"
