Housing and Insurance & Oversight and Investigations
Washington, D.C. – This week, U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03), a member of the House Committee on Financial Services selected to continue serving on two subcommittees: Housing and Insurance as well as Oversight and Investigations. The Committee on Financial Services oversees all components of the nation's housing and financial services sectors including banking, insurance, real estate, public and assisted housing, and securities.
"In the 113th Congress, I was able to deliver for Central Ohio by increasing access to credit for consumers and leveling the playing field," said Rep. Beatty. "I was also able to bring then-HUD Secretary Donavan to the district to announce a $300 million project to revitalize the Near East Side."
"In his State of the Union Address, President Obama asked Congress to put forward ideas that would help build our middle class. The bulk of the work to transform these ideas into concrete proposals happens in Congressional subcommittees and committees," said Rep. Beatty. "Whether it is through my work on Financial Services tackling critical banking and finance issues for central Ohioans, where over 120,000 individuals work in the industry, or my bipartisan approach to legislating, I will always make sure my constituents the top priority."
