Beatty Statement on Veterans Day

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) released the following statement in recognition of Veterans Day:

"Each year, we pause to pay tribute to our veterans – the men and women who have served this country with honor and distinction. On November 11th we mark the 96th national remembrance of our veterans since President Woodrow Wilson first proclaimed Armistice Day in 1919. To the almost 22 million veterans in the United States, and the 43,000 veterans who live in my congressional district, I say thank you. A grateful nation will never forget the families and the survivors of those who selflessly served and sacrificed –what President Abraham Lincoln called the ‘last full measure of devotion.' You answered the call of duty and never wavered. Whether at home or abroad, whether at war or in times of peace, you have kept our nation safe and protect the freedoms we value so greatly. I will work to ensure that this debt does not go unpaid and that our nation's veterans receive the benefits and care they have earned and deserve."
