Beatty Statement on Syrian Military Strike

On April 7, 2017, President Donald Trump authorized a military strike on a Syrian government airbase in response to a chemical weapons attack that killed dozens of civilians earlier in the week. In response, U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) issued the following statement:

"The missile strikes on Syria were shocking to me and seemed to have been done without a clear or coherent strategy. I believe that any further action attempting to resolve the crisis in Syria will require President Trump to work closely with Congress to determine the appropriate strategy prior to any escalation of U.S. involvement."
