Beatty Statement on House Canceling Trumpcare Vote
The Affordable Care Act still the law of the land
WASHINGTON, D.C.– U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) released the following statement after House Republicans cancelled a vote on the American Health Care Act of 2017, H.R. 1628, also known as "Trumpcare."
"Today proves that for the last seven years, Republicans had no plan to repeal the Affordable Care Act. The President and Speaker Ryan, despite their rhetoric and arm-twisting, could not close the deal on Trumpcare—which would have taken healthcare away from 24 million Americans and given an unnecessary tax cut to the super wealthy. The American people spoke out—healthcare should be a right for all, not just the privileged few."
