Beatty’s Vote Brings Another $2.5 Million+ to Central Ohio Community Health Centers Combating Coronavirus

COLUMBUS, OH-The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) recently announced that several local community health centers will receive a second round of federal funding totaling more than $2.59 million to address the coronavirus (COVID-19). Funding was made available through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act,H.R. 748, a piece of legislation supported by U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03). Reacting to the latest round of funding, Beatty said:

"Community health centers are on the front lines of the battle against the coronavirus, providing high-quality healthcare to our most vulnerable Central Ohioans. During this public health crisis, it is essential that community health centers have the necessary resources and support to continue their life-saving work and help keep all of us safe. As the Representative of Ohio's Third Congressional District, I remain a strong advocate for our dedicated community health professionals and am in constant awe of their unyielding commitment to the people they serve."

Funding breakdown:

  • $786,995 to the Lower Lights Christian Health Center, Inc.
  • $677,870 to the Heart of Ohio Family Health Centers
  • $609,665 to the Southeast Community Mental Health Center
  • $519,050 to the Ohio State University

Of note, a total of $345,226 was previously awarded to the aforementioned community health centers to continue their COVID-19 work in late March
