Beatty Reacts to Latest CBO Score on Trumpcare

Congressional Budget Office finds bill will strip healthcare from 23 million newly-insured Americans

On May 24, 2017, the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) issued its newest report on the effects of the American Health Care Act, as passed by the U.S. House of Representatives on May 4th. In response, U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) issued the following statement:

"The Congressional Budget Office has confirmed again that Trumpcare is a a bad deal and prescription for disaster for one million newly-insured Ohioans and another 22 million Americans who will lose healthcare coverage, as well as 129 million Americans with pre-existing conditions including women, seniors, and people with disabilities who will no longer be able to afford coverage. Trumpcare will increase premiums and deductibles, gut Medicaid by more than $830 billion and ransack the Medicare Trust Fund, all to provide a huge tax cut to the super wealthy."
