Beatty Highlights $2+ Million Central Ohio Head Start Grant

June 10, 2021

COLUMBUS, OH—U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) announced today that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services awarded a $2,737,592 grant to the Child Development Council of Franklin County to fund Head Start and Early Head Start programs in Ohio's Third Congressional District. Funding was made available through the American Rescue Plan, P.L. 117-2, a piece of legislation Beatty helped pass in Congress.

"I am working hard to ensure that every child can obtain a high-quality education now and after the pandemic," Beatty said. "As a strong supporter of comprehensive early childhood education, I promise to continue to advocate for Head Start so that even more Central Ohio students have the opportunity to succeed in and outside the classroom."

Head Start and Early Head Start programs promote school readiness of children ages birth to five from low-income families by supporting the development of the whole child.
