Beatty Announces New $3.3+ Million Grant for Nationwide Children’s Hospital

September 29, 2020

COLUMBUS, OH—U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) is proud to announce that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) recently awarded Nationwide Children's Hospital $3,371,484 through its Children's Hospitals Graduate Medical Education (CHGME) Payment Program.

"The importance of highly-trained doctors and medical professionals cannot be overstated—especially as our nation continues to grapple with the COVID-19 Pandemic," Beatty said. "Every day, we have all seen, heard and read reports about the dedicated men and women on the frontlines who are working hard for all of us." She added, "This grant will ensure that they are equipped with the much-needed tools and skills to continue their lifesaving efforts today, tomorrow, and for years to come on behalf of the children of Ohio's Third Congressional District."

CHGME provides federal funds to the nation's freestanding, children's hospitals to help them maintain their graduate medical education (GME) programs that train resident physicians and dentists. The CHGME Program enables hospitals to provide education to medical school graduates, enhance research capabilities, and care for vulnerable and underserved children.
