Congresswoman Discovers Neighbor's House on Fire, Calls 911
June 20, 2016
Representative Joyce Beatty was returning to her Blacklick home Monday evening when she noticed her neighbor's house was on fire, and jumped into action. The Congresswoman quickly got her husband, and they both called 911 to get help, according to staff members.
The home on Taylor Station Road was heavily damaged in the fire, but the family was able to get out okay. The fire is still under investigation.
Firefighters say one firefighter was taken to the hospital as a precaution after pulling a hamstring badly.
The Beattys say they're thankful their neighbors are okay. She also said Jefferson Township Fire and responding departments did a "fantastic job" putting out the large fire.
