Westerville Nonprofit SSTI Awarded $750,000 NIST Grant

Award will help to develop and enhance collaborative relationships with States and other stakeholders

U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) is proud to announce Westerville, Ohio-based SSTI, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to improving initiatives that support prosperity through science, technology, innovation and entrepreneurship, was named the recipient of a $750,000 grant from the National Institute of Standards and Technologies’ (NIST) Hollings Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP). NIST MEP is a federal-state industry partnership program which helps address the needs of the manufacturing industry in order for it to remain globally competitive.

SSTI will use monies to help generate strategies, market intelligence and analytical resources to support the efforts of the Ohio Manufacturing Extension Partnership (OHMEP) to: (1) create and retain jobs, (2) increase profits, (3) and save time and money for small and medium-sized manufacturing companies. In Ohio, small and medium-sized manufacturing companies represent 90 percent of job growth in high-paying jobs. By improving how manufacturers develop, commercialize and distribute innovative products, OHMEP provides critical support for one of Ohio’s most important industries.

“This is a win-win and will bring needed entrepreneurship and technology growth to the Third Congressional District, while keeping our nation competitive in the global marketplace,” Beatty commented.
