"When people hear ‘Red Cross,' most think of giving blood, but the American Red Cross is so much more than that. In addition to providing 40 percent of our nation's blood and blood component supply, the Red Cross plays a critical role in training and certifying health professionals, coordinating disaster relief, helping military families, and providing international aid. That is why this American Red Cross Month, I encourage my constituents to ‘Be A Hero' by donating their time, blood, and talents to their local Red Cross."
